When Penny was 3 years old, her mother brought home an  LP of Chopin piano etudes she bought for 99 cents.  Penny sat at by the table with elbows to knees and chin resting on her hands as she watched the vinyl  spin, the music filling the kitchen where her mom washed the dishes.  With no instruments in the house, Penny was left to pretend that the small white formica desk in her bedroom was her piano.

Penny is the founding member of Love, Light & Harmony.  She plays guitar, harmonium, percussion and flute in the group and sings back up vocals.

Outside of LL&H she is a clarinetist with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra and runs Tranquil Tails, massage, Reiki and acupressure for animals. She has a BS in Nutrition from UW Madison, a B.Mus fron St. Norbert College and a MA in Woodwinds from The Ohio State University
